Etude House Big Cover Concealer BB #21 Beige Review

Hey everyone :)

Today I have one of Etude House's new (ish) products to review. It is the Etude House Big Cover Concealer BB in the shade Beige. This BB cream has SPF 50+/PA+++. I bought mine here on Beautynet Korea for $13.80 USD and it contains 30g of product. This BB Cream is meant to be full coverage and you can use it as both your BB Cream and then as a concealer as well in areas that need more coverage such as blemishes or dark circles. This product comes in three shades which are #17 Vanilla, #21 Beige and #23 Sand.
The packaging of this BB Cream is shaped like an oversized liquid concealer. It is a plastic bottle with a twist off cap that has an oversized doe-foot applicator. The broad side of the applicator if supposed to be used for large areas while the tip is used for spot concealing. The bottle is plastic but it does not feel cheap, it almost even feels like a lightweight glass bottle.

The shade Beige is quite warm-toned. It is almost a smidgen too dark for me but I didn't want to go a shade up and look ghostly during the summer. If I repurchase this product I will buy Vanilla for the winter when I tend to be paler. If you are darker than a shade #23 in Korean foundations I think you may be out of luck because the shade range is quite limited. Hopefully they will expand the shade range in the future.
The product does have a scent to it. It smells kind of like the other BB Creams from Etude House if you've ever tried one before. It just has a bit more of a sort of baby powdery scent. The texture is significantly thicker and creamier than most other BB Creams I've tried. The texture really does feel like a concealer. However, it doesn't feel especially heavy on the skin and it does look relatively natural. It doesn't look like you are wearing no makeup but it also doesn't give you that mask like effect that high-coverage makeup often does. You also do not need much product. I would not use as much as was shown in the Etude House demonstration video for this product. If you apply that much product then it does begin to look cakey.

When I wear this BB Cream it covers the majority of my redness and blemishes. I just go back in with the applicator and apply over any spots that need more coverage. One thing I really appreciate about this product is that it wears nicely. I can wear it to work and it will have worn off a bit by the end of the day but it will be more or less intact. I don't need to worry about my skin being an oily mess. After about 8 hours I find it has bunched up a tiny tiny bit around my nose and it has sunk into my pores a little bit but I experience this with almost all BB Creams because of my oily T-zone. I would say that this product has relatively good oil control. The finish of this BB Cream is semi-matte which is interesting because most Korean BB Creams tend to be on the dewy side.

There are a few potential acne triggers in here such as Zinc Oxide, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Stearic Acid and Beeswax. Note that none of them are above a warning level of 2. I also did not experience any breakouts using this product.
Overall, I am unsure of whether I will repurchase. I bought it for my mom and she loves it. I do like it however, I do not usually wear high coverage makeup everyday. I might repurchase this product in the shade Vanilla so it will better match my skin tone. I do enjoy the even complexion that this product provides. I think that this product is great for combination and oily skin tones because of the semi-matte formula and oil controlling qualities. If you have dry skin you can still use this but I would recommend moisturizing well underneath. Any skin type should apply a good moisturizer underneath in the winter months. Have you tried this product? If you have then let me know! :)

What I liked: - Good coverage
                              - Relatively good oil control
                              - Doesn't look unnatural
                              - Only a little but of product is needed
                              - Doesn't break me out
                              - Semi-matte finish

What I didn't like: - Potential acne triggers
                              - Limited shade range
                              - Might be drying for dry skin types

Overall Rating: 3.75/5

Missha Secret Recipe Cucumber Mask Review

Hello everyone :)

Today I have a review of my new favourite sleeping pack. It is part of the Secret Recipe collection by the brand Missha. They have other wash off and sleeping masks such as Rice for brightening and Pomegranate for firming.  This mask contains 15% cucumber extract which contains vitamin C in order to moisturize well. This mask is supposed to refresh and soothe tired skin. It is a gel type mask. This product contains 120g of product and you can find it on Yesstyle for $7.57 USD or on Amazon.
The packaging is a simple plastic squeeze tube which is more hygienic than a typical jar-type packaging. The product itself is a very light green gel and it smells pretty fresh. It smells very similar to fresh cucumbers but a little more perfumey. This does contain fragrance and alcohol is relatively high up in the ingredients list so keep that in mind if you are sensitive to those ingredients.

The ingredients list
The mask has a lightweight gel texture and absorbs well into the skin. It feels very refreshing and soothing and in the morning my skin feels lightly hydrated. This is a great sleeping mask for the summer as it is non greasy and very hydrating. I think that this would also suit oily skin year round and if you live in a place with very harsh winters (like me) you could always use it in conjunction with a moisturizer.

Fully Absorbed

I really enjoy this product because I find a lot of sleeping masks are too heavy for my combination, acne-prone skin. This mask also does not break me out or irritate my skin. I am not sure this is holy grail status because it is just a basic moisturizing mask, however, it does the job very well for my skin type.
Overall, this is a decent product and I would recommend it for everyone in the summer who is not sensitive to fragrances or for someone with oily skin, especially dehydrated oily skin, who wants an extra boost of hydration. What is your favourite sleeping mask? If you have one let me know. :)

        What I liked: - Refreshing
                              - Lightweight
                              - Doesn't break me out
                              - Soothing

What I didn't like: - May not be enough moisture for dry skin
